Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel Expecting Their First Child

Celebrity couple, Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel are expecting their first child after 13-years together.

The baby is due later this year according to Us Weekly who was the first to report the pregnancy.

Private Practice star Diggs, 38, and Menzel, 37, began dating after meeting in 1996 on the set of the Broadway play, “Rent.” They were married in January 2003.

Menzel, a Tony-award winning actress for originating the Elphaba role in “Wicked,” recently joined her husband on the set of his hit ABC show — she appeared in last week’s “Private Practice” as a guest star and will appear in a few more episodes.

Earlier this year, Idina told US Weekly that she would consider starting a family with Taye once she finished promoting her third solo album “I Stand”. At that time she said, “It’s definitely in the plans. I’ll settle down and start popping out some babies.”As for Taye, according to Idina the actor has been ready to have kids since the day she first met him. “He wouldn’t talk about marriage, but he’d talk about me having his children,” the actress-singer told US Weekly. “He’s always wanted kids. He grew up with four younger brothers and sisters, so he’s very comfortable around children.”
