Star Jones to reveal all on Oprah

Published on April 1, 2009 at 2:44 PM

After the whole saga of losing 100+ pounds by gastric bypass, then lying to her fans on ‘The View’ before getting it kicked off the show in 2006, Star Jones is now feeling remorse, or so says PopEater.

Interviewed on tonight’s Oprah, the 47-year old Lawyer and TV performer tells the big ‘O’ she takes responsibility for deliberately hiding the truth of her sudden renaissance. “I’m so sorry that I put such a burden on my colleagues. I never asked them to lie and don’t know where the ‘Pilates and portion control’ explanation came from. I think a tabloid wrote that.” An ABC press release sent out at the time was less vague on the reasons for Star’s sudden replacement by Rosie O’Donnell. It said that Jones’ endless reports on her upcoming wedding, plus trading luxurious gifts for plugs on the show were a violation of terms, and got her removed.

Jones dropped a staggering 160-pounds after the procedure in 2003, but now admits the errors she made, “I was ashamed I couldn’t control my weight, that I never stuck to a real diet or an exercise program.” But like those among us who do it the hard way, inside Ms. Jones is a fat little kid. “I’m still 300 lbs. in my head some days.” she confesses.

The interview is part of a whole Oprah theme show about losing Weight in the public eye with Jones, Valerie Bertinelli and Marie Osmond.
