Kim Kardashian Gets PhotoShopped Because She’s Dark Skinned?

Complex Magazine posted a presumably pre-Photoshopped picture of Kim Kardassian on their “web exclusive” gallery, but were caught in the act before  it was switched out. Ironically as Animal NY points out they also released their April/May issue that featured a CGI rendering of Kanye West on the cover, transforming the rapper from a black man into a silver-skinned cyborg.

In Kim’s case the special effects were done for more sinister reasons in my opinion. Not unlike enhanced photos we have seen of Jessica Alba and many other stars, magazines feel they need to lighten the skin of darker skinned models. Besides the overall skin lightening, she got the usual magazine Photoshop makeover, as Kim’s lower half seemed to get most of the attention, with some slimming and hiding of imperfections.
