Denise Richards eliminated in Dancing With The Stars surprise

While many make fun of Dancing With The Stars, calling it Dancing With The Has-Beens and such, yesterdays telecast tells me this show appeals to many demographics.  In past years seeing the likes of Cloris Leachman and Marie Osmond staying on beyond their time came as little surprise, as it seemed to fit the audience I would expect to watch the show.

Last night though the last four celebrities left in peril were Ty Murray, Steve-O, Denise Richards, and Holly Madison. Steve-O and Steve Wozniak had by far the lowest judged scores but their fans saved them.  So who would be their fans? Wozniak’s fan base could be drawing on the Cloris group but likely is pulling in techies who would see him as some kind of nerd hero.  Steve-O is even more surprising.  The Jackass star would have a younger and hipper fan base then one would anticipate watching DWTS.

Anyway the dance-off ended but being between Holly and Denise, both beautiful women but unable to shine personality or dance wise. Holly’s samba was the same dull-fest as last night, and she improved her score only one point. Denise’s samba wasn’t spectacular but far better as she seemed to relax and enjoy herself under the pressure of elimination. She bumped up her score by  4 points, pushing her past Holly in the judges’ scoring, but alas this show is as much a popularity contest as anything and Denise seems as unpopular with the fans as she is with the tabloids.
