Lindsay Lohan charging up a storm with Sam’s credit

Since her last box-office outing in 2007, that attracted audiences that wouldn’t make a phone booth look full, Lindsay Lohan, 23, has failed to secure any significant work. But that hasn’t apparently affected the starlet’s desire for the trappings of fame. And according to Gatecrasher, all the vanishing cash has caused some heated debates with close friend and companion, Samantha Ronson.

Those close to the pair say the two girls already share a turbulent bond, and Lindsay’s addiction to spending is adding more strain. “She’s living on credit right now. Lindsay has no cash,” a friend tells the News. Such reports may be true, but it clearly isn’t concerning her much; Recent extravagances billed to the star include a $30K Rolex and a new Maserati with a sticker price that can be well in excess of $100K. But la Lohan hasn’t scored any income, so most of the spending is funded by Sam. Friends say she wants Lindsey to end her flirtation with merchandise madness, and this has been causing some serious friction.

With no current work and countless appearances canceled at will, her financial reserves must be almost at zero. But at least Lindsey seems aware of the oncoming train, “It’s scary when you realize, ‘Oh my God, I’m not working. And I have a house to pay for now,’ ” she tells the April edition of Nylon. And sources report there are new ventures in hand, designed to restore the stockpile of cash; She is apparently in discussions with Oscar-winner Sean Penn about a new film role, and may even be seen strutting her stuff on the catwalk, after recently saying she would love to team up with the folks at IMG Models.

One thing’s for sure; If she doesn’t pull up pretty soon and start earning, the guilty party in ‘I Know Who Killed Me’ may well turn out to be her!
