Natasha Richardson Has Died Following Freak Ski Accident
Tony-winning actress and mother of 2, Natasha Richardson has died from the brain injury she suffered while skiing in Canada on Monday. She was taken off of life support early Wednesday.Alan Nierob, the Los Angeles-based publicist for her husband, Liam Neeson, has officially confirmed the tragic news, issuing a press release that reads:
“Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”
Richardson took a fall while taking a lesson on the slopes of the Canadian resort. At the time there was no blood or other signs of an injury. There are now reports that a first ambulance was called as a precaution but was turned away, because Natasha seemed fine. Even so two ski patrol people escorted her down the hill to make sure she was alright. She seemed fine, smiling and making jokes.
But an hour later, Natasha started to complain of a headache, and someone from the resort called 911, where she was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, still conscious.
It was just a horrible freak accident that took a life way to early. We send our prayers and best wishes to the family.
