Madonna wants to adopt a second Malawian child
Pop star Madonna who recently divorced director husband Guy Ritchie and moved in her young boy toy boyfriend Jesus Luz, 22, now wants to expand her family again. She is looking to adopt a second child from the African country of Malawi, the native country of her adopted son David.
Speaking to Malawi’s Nation newspaper the singer said: “Many people – especially our Malawian friends – say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister,” she further adds “It’s something I have been considering but would only do if I had the support of the Malawian people and the government.”
In 2006 when Madonna adopted David she was accused of tampering with rules of that country, partly because foreigners are required to reside in the country for over a year before they can adopt a local children. Madge adopted David when he was 13-months-old after his father had placed him in an orphanage following the death of his wife
“It’s something I have been considering, but would only do, if I had the support of the Malawian people and the Government.”
A Malawian court only approved the adoption of David last year.
But Madonna is determined that David, 3, learn and understand about his Malawian culture. He has a big map of Africa in his room with lots of arrows pointing to Malawi,” she said.
