Well just like in our own lives cancer is  pervasive in the entertainment world as well. British reality TV star Jade Goody is on the verge of death, on Sunday actor Ron Silver died from a prolonged cancer illness, and most recently controversial radio host Ron Imus has gone on the air to announce his illness.

Don said via his radio show that he has been diagnosed with stage II prostate cancer. He added that he has complete faith in the treatment his doctor would advice him but at the same time did not reveal when such treatment would be started.

While reacting to his surprise on discovering the disease Don said: “The day you find out is fine,” he said. “But the next morning when you get up, your knees are shaking. I didn’t think I could make it to work.”

According to WABC Imus wore dark sunglasses and was kinda hiding behind the microphone while carrying out the daily routine of delivering news to his fans. During the news he commented that maybe, just maybe the cancer resulted from stress at work and in general.

One of his most controversial moments came in 2007 when he called Rutgers Women’s Basketball members a team of “nappy-headed hos.” Within days of his comment CBS fired him. In the later part of 2007 ABC hired him for a job on their network.
