Professional Golfer Plays In His Underwear At World Golf Championship

While Tiger Woods was getting most of the limelight, Swedish golfer Henrik Stenson emerged as a big story.  His 69 shots in the opening round of the  World Golf Championships was good but not spectacular.

After a wayward tee shot on the par-4 third hole, which landed in muck and sat in a few inches of water, Stenson decided to play the shot. A couple of weeks before at home in Dubai, Stenson tried to show friends how to hit out of a pond and soaked himself. This, he feared, would be worse. So seeking to avoid getting his clothes caked with mud, and not carrying any rain gear, off came his shoes, his socks, his shirt and his slacks.

Stenson hacked the ball out of the muck, got dressed and wound up making perhaps the most entertaining bogey of his life. He ended the day four shots off the lead at Doral, but the only thing anyone wanted to talk with him about following the round was the Swede’s striptease.
