Mischa Barton lands a bitch of a role

In the ten years since her breakout success opposite Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, in “Notting Hill”, Mischa Barton has been the focus of more than her fair share of rumors. Most of them baseless. Currently engaged in dismissing those concerning her alleged upcoming role in the remake of “Melrose Place.” she was at pains to explain in a recent interview with People magazine that her next TV appearance will, in fact, be in Ashton Kutcher’s new CW-based project, ‘A Beautiful Life.’

Loosely based on Mr. Kutcher’s own background as a model from the mid-west, Mischa promises fans will see her in a deliciously catty new role; “I play a bitchy model – it’s a totally different character for me,” said Barton, 23. With significant experience in the modeling world and a long-term engagement as the public personae of the accessory icon, Dooney and Burke, Ms. Barton was also forced to dispel recent rumors concerning her health, “I just had to release a comment about how I’m eating enough and I’m healthy,” she explained, “I think it’s important you say ‘I’m comfortable and I’m fine,’ because it’s just silly.”

Starring as Sonia, a successful model who battles her peers yet counsels those who seek to follow her lead, Ms. Barton starts shooting for Beautiful Life at the end of the month. After that, her numerous fans will be able to see the truth for themselves.
