Iron Chef’s Cat Cora and Her Partner Both Pregnant!

Known to the hungry masses for her delectable dishes on Iron Chef, it seems Cat Cora is now crafting a recipe all of her own; According to PRNewswire, she’s 4 ½ months pregnant. This is the first pregnancy for the 41-year old star of Iron Chef America, and she and her partner, Jennifer, who have been together for almost ten years are said to be thrilled.

Despite the apparent demands of being the only female Iron Chef on the show and holding her post as Executive Chef at Bon Appetit, Ms. Cora has somehow found space in her days to welcome two current children into the fold; The couple’s first child was created by artificial insemination, but the second was a blend of donated sperm and Ms. Cora’s own egg, which Jennifer carried to term. This time, both ladies are pregnant together, with Jennifer due in April and Ms. Cora set to hatch in July.

As you might expect from one raised in a loving Greek family, Ms. Cora is looking forward to the big day with almost unbounded delight; “Jennifer and I are thrilled to go through the wonderful experience of pregnancy together. We started the in-vitro process 5 years ago,” she said. “This has been a miracle for us and we’ll now have 4 beautiful children.”

Just to make things even more fun, Jennifer’s baby is the result of a donated egg, but the sperm is from the same source as Ms. Cora’s impending arrival, so the two new cherubs will be biological brothers.
