Dancing With the Stars Season 8 Debuts
Dancing With the Stars kicked off its eighth season with a desperately random assortment of supposed stars. In the category of who picked this guy to do the show, Apple’s co-founder Steve Wozniak didn’t have the best debut on Monday’s “Dancing With the Stars” premiere. In fact, Wozniak had the worst performance, earning just 13 points out of 30 for his cha cha with partner Karina Smirnoff and he did it wearing a pink boa to boot.
Judge Bruno Tonioli: “It was like watching a Teletubby going mad in a gay pride parade.”
Let’s hope the nerds don’t flood the show with votes and turn Wozniak into this seasons Cloris Leachmen.
Sex and the City’s Gilles Marini a 33-year-old Frenchman, who quite literally flashed into American theaters last summer, is a frontrunner at this point with his partner Cheryl Burke who looked great.
I kind of knew that teaming Denise Richards with Maksim Chmerkovskiy was going to lead to some drama. Richards became the first contestant to cry during rehearsals this season, but her dance performance was middle of the pack.
Hugh Hefner’s ex-girlfriend Holly Madison and “The Bachelor” reject Melissa Rycroft were last-minute additions to ABC’s dance-off, replacing injured contestants Jewel and Nancy O’Dell.
Rycroft, who began rehearsing Saturday, has past ballet experience and work as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. That seemed to help her and partner Tony Dovolani earn 23 points for their waltz. Tonioli called her “a revelation.”
“I don’t know that Bachelor guy,” Tonioli said, “but he’s a loser.”
