John Edwards’ Companion Keeps Her Reserve

Considering her quandary, Rielle Hunter, the alleged third-point in the John Edwards love triangle is being the very model of restraint, according to Fox News; There have been no books, no sensational tell-all revelations in the supermarket media, and not a single interview. Those closest to her seem sure there are not even plans for such deals. Mr. Edwards’ wife Elizabeth, however, is not currently choosing to share her restraint.

The child at the center of the storm, Frances Quinn Hunter, enjoyed her first birthday on February 27th, just a few days before Mrs. Edwards was involved in a rather unrestrained piece of journalism that appeared in the National Enquirer, promoting her new book, “Resilience: Reflections on the Burdens and Gifts of Facing Life’s Adversities.” It is being marketed as a self-help manual, but is said to be largely inspired by her Husband’s alleged liaison.

As Mrs. Edwards works on both the marketing of her new oeuvre, and on managing her cancer, the prognosis for which is not at all good, her husband is now trying to restart his political career by giving low-profile speeches at Universities, and before groups sympathetic to both his political and personal position. Rielle, however, is not able to share such largess; Without the predictable bounty of book deals or movies, friends have been helping her handle her crisis, and despite losing her income and the lease on her home she remains very much in the shadows. But Mrs. Edwards upcoming book tour in May could add pressure to Ms. Hunter’s already stressful position, and it remains to be seen at what point she might crack.
