Passenger in Morgan Freeman Auto Accident Sues – Claims He’d Been Drinking

A woman who was injured in the car crash with Morgan Freeman last August in Mississippi, filed a lawsuit against the actor on Wednesday claiming he had been drinking that night. Demaris Meyer, is suing for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, permanent disability (short term memory loss) and additional damages, TMZ reports.
Meyer claims on the night of the crash, she met up with Freeman for dinner where he allegedly consumed several alcoholic drinks. Afterward, Mayer and Freeman went to a friend’s home where she claims Freeman “had at least one more drink” while there.
At the end of the night, she claims Freeman then invited her to stay at his home for the night. Despite the early rumors that she was his mistress sparked by Morgan’s divorce from his wife Myrna Colley-Lee, of 24 years soon after the accident, Meyer said she and Freeman were “just friends.
Meyer claims at around 11:30 PM, while Freeman drove her to his home, he lost control of the car and “ran off of the right side of the highway” in Mississippi. The car doors were jammed on the vehicle and both of them had to be removed from the car with the Jaws of Life, a spokesperson for the Mississippi Highway Patrol said.
Meyer says she suffered a broken left wrist and right scapula, a torn labrum in her right shoulder and numerous bruises and lacerations, while Freeman was left with nerve damage to his left hand following surgery for a broken arm, broken elbow and minor shoulder damage.
