Samuel Jackson Signs on to Play Nick Fury In ‘Iron Man 2′ and more

Good news for Iron Man and Marvel Comic book movie fans. Samuel Jackson will be in Iron Man 2, as General Nicholas Joseph “Nick” Fury. Jackson appeared as Fury in the 2008 film Iron Man as as the leader of S.H.I.E.L.D. but you might have missed it as his scene runs after all the credits.

Jackson claimed he was dumping the movie because Marvel tried to lowball him on his acting fee. Mickey Rourke,  was poised to follow his Golden Globe-winning performance in “The Wrestler” to play the main villain in “Iron Man 2, but a similar lowball opening offer from Marvel hasn’t been accepted.

Jackson is not only onboard for Iron Man 2,  but signed an unprecedented nine-picture deal to play the character in a series of Marvel movies.

The movies include “Iron Man 2,” “Thor,” “Captain America,” “The Avengers” and its sequels.

Also on the table is the possibility of starring  in a “S.H.I.E.L.D.” movie, which is in development.
