‘The Simpsons’ get a new opening intro (Video)
Other then the clever couch formation sequences the last time the opening sequence of The Simpsons was changed, was more than 18 years ago during the premiere of the show’s second season on TV.
But while the basic storyline of the show runs throughout the new intro, there are a number of changes, including the addition of some of the characters who joined the show since the last time the opening was redone 18 years ago.
Apu’s octuplets provide an obstacle Bart has to skateboard around, as does Crazy Cat Lady, The Rich Texan, and Sideshow Bob, who tries to stab him.
Maggie meets her arch nemesis, Gerald the unibrow baby while shopping with Marge, and Marge’s grocery items have also been updated. The more observant fans out there will notice that the price Maggie rings up when she is scanned by the grocery clerk has doubled, from $243.26 to $486.52 while the Simpsons family television has also be updated — they are now settled on the sofa (once they catch it) in front of a flash flat screen, which is hanging on the wall.
The Simpsons will be broadcast in HD on Sundays on FOX.

I love what the Simpsons are doing this season with the continuation of Lisa’s affair with her MyPod. I love the Simpsons Movie, and I just read a great review of it on EverHype (read more music, movie, and game reviews or add your own by creating a free account at http://www.everhype.com/?utm_source=bc), but I think it might have killed things. I mean, none of my friends are watching the show anymore and, unfortunately, they’re all waiting for it to die. Long live the Simpsons!
