Casting change rumors for Iron Man 2
Emily Blunt’s filming schedule for the upcoming Gulliver’s Travels with funnyman Jack Black conflicts with Iron Man 2, so the studio reportedly already have her replacement waiting in the wings!
Since news of Blunt’s potential scheduling problems, Eliza Dushku tossed her hat in the ring for the role, pleading for fans to start a campaign to make it happen. Unfortunately for Eliza, it seems that Jon Favreau and Marvel have bigger names in mind for the part.
Blunt hasn’t officially stepped down from the role of Russian superspy Natasha Romanoff (aka the Black Widow). in Iron Man 2, but filmmakers are reportedly gunning for Scarlett Johansson to replace her just in case.
Johannson has already met with the filmmakers for Iron Man 2 and is eager to do it.
Emily’s reps are trying to adjust her schedule and Iron Man 2 doesn’t have a start date in place so one wonders if the studios just prefer ScarJo or if they are just hedging their bets.
We know Scarlett is beautiful but can she portray dangerous, or would Emily be better suited?
I’m really excited about the second Iron Man, and I’m upset that it’s hitting so many snags.
