Michael Jackson Being Treated For Flesh-Eating Disease?
New photos that show Michael Jackson with red skin poking out from under his doctor’s mask are igniting questions about the former popstar’s health (again).
Michael Jackson has developed an MRSA-type of infection, according to an anonymous source close to the performer.
Jacko isn’t a stranger to the tabloids, and the frequent rumors about his health (both physical, and psychological) seem to resurface every few months. But this time, sightings of inflamed skin may be a sign that these claims are true.
“Michael Jackson has a severe staph infection that he contracted during work to reconstruct his nose,” the source, who wished to remain anonymous, told reporters at the British paper, The Sun.
“The disease is an MRSA-style infection because it is resistant to conventional antibiotics, so he has been visiting a clinic to get antibiotics via an IV drip. The infection has spread throughout his face and body and is being aggressively treated by doctors.
“There’s a chance it could turn into a flesh-eating disorder where it begins to kill off his skin so he’s being very carefully monitored.”
This claim follows closely on the heels of a book that was written last month, claiming the singer was also suffering from a fatal lung disease, and was fighting to stay alive. Those reports are unconfirmed.
The spokesman for Michael Jackson, however, says that both claims are ridiculous, and that Jackson is doing fine. They even claim that he is in the works for a new project, something that has not occurred for some time.
“Mr Jackson is in fine health, and finalizing negotiations with a major entertainment company and television network for both a world tour and a series of specials and appearances.”
