Dancing with the Stars Season Eight Cast Is Revealed (mostly)!

In case you missed it and weren’t watching ABC like many last night, the season eight cast members of Dancing with the Stars was revealed during commercial breaks in between the networks Sunday night prime-time lineup.

It was already leaked that singer Jewel Kilcher would be dancing but in a new twist it turns out she will be competing against her husband, retired rodeo champ Ty Murray. That’s kind of cool as they both will be getting professional dance lessons while being close by to each other.

In another twist to the show, two-time Dancing champ-turned-country-singer Julianne Hough will be back but her amateur partner will be her boyfriend, country singer Chuck Wicks.  It seems like all of Julianne’ amateur partners fall in love with her on the show even though she’s a tough task master.  But how will it work out, trying to push her boyfriend to be his best will be interesting?  It could test the relationship.

Other celebrities announced include the youngest contestant ever on the show, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson, 17. It’s quite a diverse lineup among those announced for the usually straight laced show with actress Denise Richards, former NFL star Lawrence Taylor, rapper Lil’ Kim, Belinda Carlisle, Jackass star Steve-O, Access Hollywood co-host Nancy O’Dell, Apple computer co-founder Steve Wozniak, actors David Alan Grier and Gilles Marini, round out those announced.

For more spice real-life pro couple Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff, who got engaged this past  December, will compete against each other with their respective celebrity partners.

An ABC spokesperson says the remaining professional dancer/celebrity pairings will be announced on Thursday, February 12.

Dancing’s eighth season premieres March 9 on ABC.
