Strong rumor is Blink-182 Working On A New Album
Recent tragedies have inspired Blink 182 band members to reconnect. There were hard feelings after the band’s break up in 2005 with Mark and Travis not really speaking with former 182 frontman Tom DeLonge since. Now on the heels of Blink-182′s announcement that they’ll be reuniting to present an award at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, details of a new Blink-182 record have been announced!
David Kennedy, guitarist for Tom DeLonge’s side project, Angels & Airwaves, confirmed the band’s future plans on an A&A’s message board Thursday night.
Kennedy fielding fan questions about that band’s new album seem to say Angels might be putting out an album this year, and Blink may be, too.
“I’m trying to write a statement about how Angels is all good while Blink is coming back,” Kennedy wrote.
When asked by a fan if that meant Angels & Airwaves were going to be scrapped in favor of Blink-182, he replied, “No sir. … It will be a good creative year and I want to make sure that comes across.”
Then, when asked by another fan to clarify the fact that Blink are coming back, Kennedy wrote “Yeah, putting out a record.”
It seems like things are on track for the reunion, but it’s strange that the news first comes from Kennedy and not the original band members.
