Gary Collins busted for suspected DUI, and may face significant jail time

Former talk show and Miss America host, Gary Collins is pretty much destroying his life with drinking and driving. Collins has a history of DUI busts including a no contest plea to a DUI in an accident that resulted in the death of the other driver last year. Collins was not prosecuted for manslaughter, in part because the other driver caused the crash by making an illegal left. Collins is currently on 4 years probation for that incident, and if he is convicted of driving drunk again, he’ll almost certainly go to jail.

Last night police busted Collins on suspicion of DUI. He refused a field sobriety test but was subsequently given a blood alcohol test and was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail where he was booked and released. If the blood alcohol test shows he was driving while legally drunk that might be the end of Gary’s freedom for quite a while.
