Jose Canseco and Danny Bonaduce square off to a draw

Former MLB star, Jose Canseco, fought against “Partridge Family” star Danny Bonaduce in a celebrity boxing match. The economy can’t be that bad when a capacity crowd of 2,000 curiosity seekers pays $50 ringside and $30 for the cheap seats to hopefully watch the two D-listers pummel each other. The fight was also available on Pay-Per-View.
The crowd was heavily partisan toward Bonaduce, who has a morning radio show on Philly’s WYSP. Bonaduce was still standing after three one-minute rounds which was a victory in itself – with the 6′4″ Canseco outweighed the 5′6″ Bonaduce by 80 pounds and is almost a foot taller. The fight of the two admitted steroid users, saw the lumbering Canseco chase and push the speedier but physically outmatched Bonaduce, across the ring but only connected a couple of times with his smaller opponent who he seemed reluctant to seriously hurt.
Reportedly fans began leaving the arena before a decision was even announced, likely disappointed that both of the combatants were still standing at the end. The 44-year-old Canseco took the fight because he’s strapped for cash and claims to have squandered nearly $45 million in a career where he hit 462 career home runs. Bonaduce had more of a bucket list reason to slug it out with baseball’s most notorious Bash Brother.
