Mariska Hargitay suffers partially collapsed lung in freak accident

Mariska Hargitay who portrays Detective Olivia Benson on “Law & Order SVU” has suffered a partially collapsed lung.

But Hargitay will appear in all remaining episodes of her show, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” on U.S. network NBC, her representative, Gary Mantoosh, said in a statement.

Mantoosh declined to say how Hargitay, 44, a Golden Globe- and Emmy Award- winner, suffered the partially collapsed lung, however we hear she was on vacation and was involved in a freak sledding accident in the Hamptons.

Hargitay the daughter of Jayne Mansfield, was nominated for a Golden Globe award for best actress in a television drama this year, but she lost out on Sunday to Anna Paquin in the HBO show “True Blood.”
