Mickey Rourke sizes up the Crimson Dynamo for ‘Iron Man 2′

Mickey Rourke is in discussions to play the Crimson Dynamo, who I think was Iron Man’s first villain foe in the comics? (please correct me!) In Iron Man 2 according to Variety, the Dynamo character will be a heavily tattooed Russian arms dealer who also happens to pack a nuclear-powered suit of armor. For Rourke this would be his first studio film since resurrecting his career with “The Wrestler.” I can’t get worked up either way about Mickey playing the Crimson Dynamo. But frankly I thought the first film already played homage to the Dynamo idea with what’s playing an evil armored Iron Man, so I was looking forward to moving on to another villain, like The Mandarin.
Speaking of which, Sam Rockwell also has begun talks to play a villain in the pic, to be distributed by Paramount Pictures in summer 2010. Which role Rockwell will play has yet to be disclosed by Marvel, but I don’t think he would be cast as The Mandarin. So if I am reaching any Marvel fans out there who do you think should be the main villain in Iron Man 2? Rockwell by the way most recently appeared in “Frost/Nixon” and “Choke.”
