Shania Twain Shops in New York with Surprising Companion

Shania Twain was all smiles as she turned up in Manhattan Thursday with a number of friends from Switzerland, Nashville and Virginia for a weekend of Christmas shopping. Three weeks after getting a standing ovation for her surprise appearance at the CMA Awards, the singer who is rarely photographed, shared some laughs with photographers.

Back in May, Twain, 43, split from her producer husband Lange, 60. Though Lange denied having an affair sources close to the situation said that he was involved with Marie-Anne Thibaud, a close friend and manager of the couple’s chateau in Switzerland. The two couples had socialized together for years.

Twain — who has been staying strong after the split arrived on this trip with a group of friends including Frederic Thiebaud, the ex-husband of Marie-Anne Thiebaud, Twain’s former best friend. Thiebaud seemed to be a bit camera shy and was reluctant to be photographed next to Shania.  He’s a very handsome guy and has been friends of Shania for years.  Have they become more then friends after their spouses allegedly betrayed them we don’t know yet.  But count on the speculation to begin!
