Brad Pitt talks kids, marriage and bringing the mustache back
Brad Pitt is doing a lot of interviews these days for his new movie ” The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”whose title character is born old and gets younger as he grows up. Perhaps tongue in cheek Brad has proclaimed he is bringing mustaches back. “That’s my goal,” the actor, 44, told Extra. at the Monday screening of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in New Orleans, which is scheduled for a Christmas Day release. “I don’t think ‘staches are respected enough.” Brad’s been sporting the facial hair while shooting Quentin Tarantino World War II movie “Inglourious Basterds”. Personally I am hoping he shaves it off soon!
Brad Pitt hinted that he and Angelina Jolie will eventually tie the knot.
“If we feel it’s important to our kids, we would,” he tells Today show’s Ann Curry in a new interview about his Make It Right Foundation project in New Orleans. (See video, below.)
Jolie has previously admitted that their children are starting to ask why she and Pitt haven’t wed yet.
“Usually people fall in love and everything revolves around the ritual of marriage, children are an afterthought. We did everything backwards,” she recently told the Italian edition of Vanity Fair.
“But sooner or later it will be the kids who ask us [to get married],” she added. “You know, they see films and start asking questions. Such as, ‘Why are Shrek and Fiona married and you’re not?’”
Of his six children, Brad says, “I’m really proud of this family. I look at my sons and my daughters, and one’s from Vietnam and one’s from Cambodia and one’s from Ethiopia, and … they’re all brothers and sisters. And they’re fighting, they’re laughing, they’re going into hysterics and staying up late, and they’re messing with their parents, and they’re driving me crazy and I’m really proud.
“I truly feel rich being around them,” the actor added. “It’s a rich home, and each one of ‘em offers so much to the mix.” Then, with a smile, he deadpanned, “Surprising, though: Six kids is not as easy as you would think.”
Curry asked him why he’s reluctant to talk about Jolie and his children.
“It just gets cheapened somehow, as it goes through the filters in the airwaves,” he explained. “And some things you just want to keep close.”
But Pitt — who attended the premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with Jolie in New Orleans on Monday, says he tries to avoid talking about his kids.
“I just walk away feeling bad about it when I do,” he says, adding that what he has to say about the family “seems to get cheapened somehow as it goes through the filter and the airwaves. I just want to keep it close to the chest.”
