Winona Ryder rushed to hospital off transatlantic flight
Winona Ryder has been rushed to a hospital today, Wednesday, after falling ill during a flight from the U.S. to London. The 37-year-old’s condition is not yet known but the illness was sufficiently serious for the pilot of the British Airways plane to request a priority landing at Heathrow Airport.
A rep for the Hillingdon Hospital in Uxbridge, west London, said that Ryder was treated by medics directly off the plane while at Heathrow Airport and then taken to a local hospital. BA said their crew looked after her as much as they could while on board, and passenger service staff accompanied her to hospital.
Update: A spokeswoman for Ryder now says: “She did fall ill on a flight and as a precautionary measure, was taken to a hospital. She was there maybe an hour and was released. The bottom line is she is in good health.”
