Madonna’s friends including Gwyneth Paltrow speak up for her

Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she is helping Madonna get through her divorce from Guy Ritchie. Paltrow, 36, told Usmagazine at the Two Lovers Premiere in London Monday: “You know, she’s a dear friend, and I’m supporting her in all [the] ways that I can. I’m just here for her.” Paltrow says she’s been in constant contact with her friend.
Madonna, and Ritchie, announced their split after seven years of marriage on Oct. 15. They did not have a prenuptial agreement in place. Over the weekend, British papers reported the couple had struck a deal over their finances (they’re worth a reported $525 million) and how to split their four properties.
Apparently Madonna’s friends have nicknamed her husband Material Guy because of his alleged cash demands ahead of their divorce.
40-year-old Guy — director of hit films Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels — has his own fortune of around $50 million. But friends of Madonna give a different perspective on the relationship and reportedly insist Guy is a tightwad. One said: “If he’s meant to be worth millions, then Madonna’s never seen a penny of it.
“He’s never contributed towards the running of the family and his son’s schooling.
“Contrary to the image being projected, Madonna’s been the rock of the family. She’s the one who has the kids with her at all times.
“They are home-schooled and they go on the road with her.”
