Jesse Metcalfe claims desperate to dump Nadine Coyle

Desperate Housewives actor Jesse Metcalfe has been recently shooting off his mouth about his ex, Nadine Coyle according to reports. Jesse, 29, who plays gardener John Rowland in the hit US series, was overheard ranting about his former lover on a night out at London’s Bungalow 8 nightclub. He claims the Girls Aloud star was a “diva” and “needy”. And he blamed their romance for “ruining” his life and career.

“I have never grieved over our relationship. It was ruining my life, it was ruining my career. You should only be in a relationship if it adds to your life. She brought out a different side in me. When we broke up I was like, ‘Get out of my house!’ “She was so needy. I freaked out on her and I have never really spoken to her since.”

Hmm, maybe it was the punch to the face by the boyfriend of actress Taryn Manning, or all the drinking that has made Jesse’s memory a little hazy – he has been in and out of rehab for alcohol abuse since he started dating Nadine in February 2006.

They met in Australia when Girls Aloud were on a promotional tour. Just over a year after they got together he first checked into rehab. Nadine, 23, stood by him but a month later she dumped him over claims he had cheated.

But Nadine forgave him and bought a place in LA to spend more time with him, until things got rocky again around his second stint in rehab in May 2007. The on-off couple had a string of dates earlier this year, but things fizzled out and Nadine cut all ties. Friends say Jesse pleaded with her to take him back, but she wasn’t having any of it. Not so “needy” after all, then.
