Chris Martin punches journalist for mentioning Paltrow’s ex

In case you happen to be hanging out with Chris Martin, best not to mention Brad Pitt in conversation. After giving an acceptance speech at the Q Awards, Chris told a journalist who works for Q magazine, Paul Reese, that he and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow had been talking about how they have one of those fantasy arrangements where he would be allowed to leave her for a certain starlet or she would be allowed to leave him for the singers from Westlife (of all choices). HollyMoly tells what happened next:

Clearly bemused by Paltrow’s choice and not giving himself time to engage his brain, Reese blurted out: “You could have at least told her Brad Pitt.”

Chris responded:

“She was engaged to him, you f***er.”

Realising he’d just committed a massive faux pas, Rees tried to comfort Martin with a fatherly arm round the shoulder while pointing out that Paltrow had at least dumped the Hollywood A-lister for him.

Martin let out a nasty curse word and then proceeded with a swift blow to the journalist’s chest. Kind of a cold-play by Chris, if you ask me!
