Speculation on why Madonna and Guy Richie broke up and what the divorce fight is really about

Since the official statement announcing the divorce there has been a lot of speculation on many fronts concerning Madonna and Guy Richie. In recent news today there has been some new theories on why the marriage went sour.

A supposed friend of Madonna’s tells The UK Sun that the marriage took a bad turn when Madge she fell off a horse in 2005. Madonna broke some bones in the accident and was laid up in the hospital and said it was one of the most painful experiences of her life. The experience was extra bad because Guy didn’t show her any kind of compassion. Madonna’s friend tells that:

“Madonna was in a huge amount of pain and expected Guy to drop everything to be at her bedside. In her mind that is what every husband should do to support his wife when she has been through a traumatic, possibly life-threatening, experience. But Guy approached the whole thing in what she now calls, ‘A very British way’. Instead of smothering her with sympathy he said, ‘Come on darling, you’re a tough bird. You’ll be back on the horse in no time’. Guy’s approach was that a few broken bones is no big deal – and that there was no point in making a drama out of a crisis. But in Madonna’s mind, she could have been killed, and she wanted the full works and to be lavished with love and attention.”

Madonna told friends that Guy must not be her soulmate. She also vowed to never date British dudes again because they are “emotionally-stunted.”

Madonna’s brother, Christopher Ciccone also weighed in on the breakup, and says Kabbalah was the foundation of the marriage’s dissolution. Christopher, who recently penned a tell-all book about Madonna, says, “The Kabbalah sect, to which Madonna is completely devoted, played a large role in this marriage. It was based on it. And that is not enough on which to base a marriage and it couldn’t have survived.”

He goes on to say that there is no way in heck Madonna and Guy can ever reconcile – their personalities are just too “ambitious” and “headstrong.” He adds that he could never figure out what his sister saw in Guy, but that he was willing to be supportive regardless.

Other insiders say that the marriage “became less about passion and more about control” as Madonna’s strange age-defiant rituals emerged.

In addition to forbidding them from watching TV, Madonna reportedly kept her family, and Guy, on a short leash, with strict dietary rules. At dinner everyone ate steamed fish with seasonal vegetables, and for breakfast, Madonna made Guy drink zero-fat smoothies. If Guy wanted a treat, he’d have to sneak down to the pub for one.

Instead of spending time with the family, Madge spent more time at the gym with her personal trainer, much to the dismay of her husband. And at night, instead of a good old romp in the sack, Madonna preferred to spend hours bathing in pricey creams and zipping herself up in a plastic body bag, which is an ancient alien anti-aging method.

So take your pick of the many reasons for the split.

Meanwhile, as Madonna’s lawyers arm themselves for the upcoming court battle, Guy claims to want no more than a division of the couple’s properties and a lump sum.

The money is not as great an issue as custody of the children is. Ritchie is desperate to keep his 8-year-old son in England because he wants Rocco to grow up a London lad. Madonna, however, wants the kids in the States.

A pal tells The Daily Mail, “‘The idea that he [Rocco] will be across the Atlantic from Guy most of the time is tearing him [Ritchie] apart.”
