Redmond and Ryan O’Neal both Charged With Felony Drug Possession

Last month (Sept. 17th), during a routine probation checkup, cops found Redmond O’Neal to be in possession of what looked like meth, as well as a small vial of the stuff in his father’s bedroom. Both Ryan and his 23-year-old son Redmond were arrested. Perhaps not surprisingly both men have now been charged as of Wednesday with possession of methamphetamine (a felony). In addition to the felony counts, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged Redmond with two misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one misdemeanor count of illegal possession of pepper spray. A week ago Redmond told a judge that he had relapsed and wanted help. The judge agreeably sentenced him to two weeks in rehab. 67-year-old Ryan O’Neal has maintained his innocence in the affair, his lawyer telling reporters that his client would no doubt be vindicated.
