Gerard Depardieu’s son Guillaume has died

Hospital officials say 37-year-old French actor Guillaume Depardieu, son of world-renowned French movie star Gerard Depardieu has died from complications linked to a sudden case of pneumonia.
A spokesman for Artmedia, Depardieu senior’s agency, said he had contracted a virus that developed into a “devastating case of pneumonia.”
The officials say Guillaume had been hospitalized in a western Paris suburb overnight from Sunday to Monday.
Guillaume Depardieu won the prize in 1996 as the most promising young actor at the Cesar awards — France’s equivalent of the Academy Awards — for his role in the film “Les Apprentis” (The Apprentices).
He starred with his father in a 1991 film, but they had a public falling-out in 2003.
Guillaume stars in Bertrand Bonello’s “De la guerre” (Of war) and “Versailles” currently showing in cinemas, and was known for his rebellious streak.
He got in trouble for speeding, drugs and a conviction for drink-driving that landed him in jail earlier this year.
Guillaume Depardieu had his right leg amputated in 2003 to end years of pain from a bacterial infection following a motorcycle accident in 1996.
