British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen reportedly caused a security panic at Milan’s prestigious fashion week, when he stormed onto the catwalk Thursday, interrupting designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada’s show. Cohen jumped on stage dressed up as his Austrian fashionista, Bruno, the subject of his latest mockumentary film. He then made his way down the catwalk, past the other models, dressed in a black cloak, and a bizarre bundle of clothing. And after he refused to leave, police had to be called in. Cohen and his team had used fake passes to fool security guards into letting them into a backstage area.
So why the nutty behavior now? Cohen is in Milan to work on his new film called, Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Male due out in May. The movie being made in the same documentary style as his flick from 2006, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, so you will likely catch footage of this ambush in the new movie.
Yesterday, Cohen, caused havoc again after bursting into changing rooms as scantily clad models screamed and security guards dived on him and several others with him and bundled them away.
Here’s video footage screened on Italian TV showing Cohen dressed as his creation Bruno storming the catwalk and getting arrested.

the pictures of Cohen crashing the fashion show in Milan hardly look like him… judging by the aftermath, though, it looks like it was an effective marketing ploy
