Scientology protestors greet Katie Holmes on Broadway

Katie Holmes started previews of “All My Sons” on Broadway yesterday, but Tom Cruise seemed to be the center of attention! Around 20 members of the anti-Scientology group, Anonymous, protested outside of the theater. Some of them wore “V for Vendetta” masks while shouting “SAVE KATIE!”
They said they were not there to boycott Katie or the play. “We are protesting Scientology. It is evil. Scientology kills people. It follows you home at night. It is perverted.”
Roger Friedman of Fox News, reported that last night’s first performance was all about Cruise, inpite of the star studded cast which includes which otherwise stars two-time Oscar-winner Dianne Wiest, Tony-winner and movie powerhouse John Lithgow and the up-and-comer Patrick Wilson. When Tom walked into the theater, everyone (except the 20 protestors) cheered. Tom also waved and bowed at the audience like he was the star of the show. When the performance ended, Cruise got up to cheer first like it was one of his kids’ soccer games.
Anyway the real reason for seeing this production, according to Friedman’s sources would be to catch Lithgow and Wiest, who are said to be most excellent and Simon McBurney’s direction is reported as superb. So how is Katie? According to his spies “She doesn’t embarrass herself or anyone else. She’s fine.”
