Pat O’Brien and his employer, part ways

Pretty much everyone saw this coming. Pat O’Brien was already on double secret probation with CBS, after he went to rehab again recently. Earlier this week, Pat pretty much put the coffin on his career with an e-mail sent to the staff of “The Insider” that got leaked. In it he trash talked Lara Spencer claiming she makes viewers sick, because she only cares about irrelevant things like fashion. While Pat cares about important things like helping the poor and saving the world.

CBS not wasting much time since the contents of the email leaked (perhaps they leaked it themselves?), issued this statement:

“Pat O’Brien is a talented broadcaster who has been a part of The Insider family from the very beginning. Although we have decided to part ways, everyone at CBS Television Distribution and The Insider greatly appreciate and respect all his contributions to our show. We wish Pat much success in his future endeavors.”

Nice way of saying don’t let the door smack you in the behind on the way out. Somewhere out there Lara Spencer is totally celebrating this news!
