I think this as close to normal as things get for some celebrity families. Britney Spears threw a a joint car and truck-themed birthday celebration in Los Angeles for sons Preston and Jayden on Saturday, Preston turns 3 on Sept. 14, and Jayden turned 2 on Sept. 12 – with sister Jamie Lynn Spears, her newborn niece Maddie Briann, dad Jamie and mom Lynne.
The bash was held at close friend Adrienne Maloof-Nassif’s Beverly Park house, and the outdoor party drew some famous guests, including Jenny McCarthy with her son Evan, and Gwen Stefani’s son Kingston, 2, who came to the bash from an equally starry affair: He celebrated Heidi Klum’s son Henry’s 3rd birthday at the model’s Beverly Hills house along with all three of Victoria Beckham’s sons.
But the guests of honor seemed to be having the best time. Preston and Jayden drove around the party in mini motorized cars, which were customized Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier. The cars featured tattoo-inspired decals, Ed Hardy air fresheners and personalized license plates. To keep with the party’s theme, the cake was in shape of a yellow truck. Spoiled much?
In other Spears news, Britney and her family have donated an autographed portrait of the singer for charity, with a starting bid of $10,000 on eBay, currently at $13,600 at last check. The eBay page shows several photos of Spears standing next to the 5-by-4-foot oil painting of the pop star that was given to the L.A.-based Promises Foundation, which provides behavioral health services to low-income women and their children.
“The Spears family gave us this painting out of their generosity,” says the organization’s director, Lisa Rogg. “It was their idea for the auction.”
Another Britney rumor has her making a spectacular live comeback in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve. The show at the Pearl Theatre in the Palms Resort And Casino will tell the world Britney’s back and supposedly kick off a grand world tour.
A source tells the Sunday Mirror: “Britney has been recording her sixth album at Palms and she is good friends with George from way back. They are cooking up the idea of making a big bold statement by making her comeback on New Year’s Eve. It’s going to be the hottest ticket on the planet.”
Update: Britney’s new album Circus, is due for release Dec. 2 – the day she turns 27, her label announced Monday.
