Sarah Palin’s family continues to grill under the spotlight

Boy when you suddenly thrust a relative unknown into the political spotlight, it’s just amazing the things that come out. Here we have the new vice presidential candidate via the Huffington Post, in her dorm room at the University of Idaho wearing a t-shirt that reads “I May Be Broke, But I’m Not Flat Busted.” According to the Associated Press, the photo was provided by Sarah Palin’s family. Not such a bad thing but it goes to show that nearly every aspect of your life goes under the microscope when one chooses to run for higher office.
The scrutiny has just begun and Sarah’s pregnant teen daughter, Bristol, is already a casualty. Bristol though has not chosen the life of celebrity. But now, thanks to her mother’s decision to accept the Republican Vice Presidential candidacy, her private life is exposed for all to see, and she’s literally become the poster child for her mother’s anti-choice and abstinence-only education policies. That’s pretty tough deal for a 17-year-old just trying to cope with life. The Palin’s announced that Bristol would soon marry her 18-year-old boyfriend and father of her child (because of course that’s the right thing to do).  The young groom to be until yesterday described himself on his MySpace page, as someone who “likes to hang out with the boys…and just f—in chillin,” and who doesn’t want kids, until it was yanked off of public view.
Rumors are now circulating that just like her daughter Bristol, Sarah had an unplanned pregnancy. Palin “eloped” with her husband Todd, in 1988 when she was 24, and allegedly their first son, Track, was born eight months later. This of course is not confirmed and probably has little to do with whether Sarah Palin is a good vice-presidential candidate. And it’s understandable at least to me that one would have a hard time passing on this once in a lifetime opportunity. But did John McCain’s team really do their homework before they chose their VP?

I think Sarah is the rabbit out of the hat. The Republicans needed this and what a blessing she is. I know God is in control…
What an example… To choose life regardless of the test results before delivery…. knowing she was carrying a Down Syndrome child…
… and now her own daughter @ 17
–> choosing life….over an abortion in both of these cases. Ha! Is this politically correct?
I praise Sarah and I think she is amazing! Gotta love that smile!
Hey… I would not dare consider casting the first stone at anyone…. It is not a perfect world and I think she has a great deal to be proud of.
