I know this isn’t our usual fare, but given the popularity of the recent movie on this unsolved case thought some of you might be interested. The FBI has confirmed to Sacramento TV station CBS13, that they are now running laboratory tests on some items that may link a suspect to the killer. The evidence was given to the FBI by a Pollock Pines man who also claims he recently found the disguise worn by the Zodiac Killer during one of his attacks.

Dennis Kaufman is convinced his now deceased stepfather is the Zodiac Killer, and wants retribution because he thinks the man also killed his mother and many others. He himself turned forensic evidence including a blood stained knife, gruesome and undeveloped photos, handwriting samples, and a black hood with the zodiac sign on it. It’s similar to the hood worn during the vicious 1968 Lake Berryessa attack, which is the possible key evidence connecting his stepfather to the killings. Former Friends star, Jennifer Aniston is returning to television.

She is going to be appearing on an upcoming episode of 30 Rock for her former network, NBC. Aniston’s former Friends co-star David Schwimmer has also appeared on 30 Rock.

Aniston’s hardworking publicist just confirmed the news, adding that “she is shooting now.”

No details are being released about the character Jen will play.

Perhaps she will play a fading Hollywood movie actress who is unlucky in love?

John Law reviewed Jessica Simpson’s performance at the Avalon Ballroom in Ontario, Canada on Wednesday and he compared the performance to a train wreck, but with less direction. John writes in the Niagara Falls Review that Simpson couldn’t stop talking when she should have been singing. John writes, “Simpson needs to explain in exhausting detail what every single song is about, and the endless banter kills any momentum. She’s still living in a reality show, convinced everyone is so fascinated with her personal life, they’d rather hear her talk than sing.

Before the new song “Man Enough,” she said her man must be ready for anything - including the possibility she’s pregnant with an alien.

Before “Remember That,” a song about abuse, she said God wanted her to record it “so I could stand up here and be witness to you guys.”

Before the Dolly Parton-penned “Do You Know,” she talked about the night she screwed up the lyrics to “9 to 5” with Dolly in the audience. She was so bummed, “I told my daddy I’m never going to sing again … I’m going to ignore this gift God gave me.”

Alrighty then. Desperate for approval Wednesday’s show started with a taped message from Willie Nelson, basically asking the audience to give Jessica a chance. The audience welcomed her warmly and Simpson opened up about God, divorce and, um, flatulence.“I do pass gas a lot,” she said. “I guarantee it smells like roses.”

What a stunner in my book! Republican presidential hopeful John McCain has picked Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska, as his surprise running mate. Apparently Heidi Montag wasn’t available.
Anyway at 44, Sarah Palin is younger than Barack Obama and is credited with reforms during her first term, but she is relatively unknown in political circles. She was though Miss Wasilla 1984. She won second place in the Miss Alaska contest, but was voted Miss Congeniality. So she’s got that going for her!

McCain is due to present her on stage at a rally in Dayton, Ohio, to celebrate his 72nd birthday. I thought for sure Mitt Romney would be the pick! What do you think good move by McCain or desperation? In any case come January, we will either have our first African-American President or our first female Vice-President!

Reese Witherspoon, puts the Women’s Empowerment bracelet on Maria da Penha Maia Fernandes, who pioneered the fight against domestic violence in Brazil

Reese Witherspoon spoke in Brazil yesterday to raise awareness of women affected by domestic violence. The star of the “Legally Blonde” films and an Oscar winner for her role in “Walk the Line,” is touring the South American country as part of her duties as the global ambassador of Speak Out Against Domestic Violence campaign. The initiative was started by the UN Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) and the Avon cosmetics company in 2004.

And Witherspoon is hoping her involvement will help raise awareness on the abuse of women - insisting she herself has been close to people who were the victims of domestic violence.  She told reporters in Sao Paulo on Thursday, that one woman in three in the world is affected by domestic violence:
“There isn’t a woman in the world that doesn’t have a friend or a partner who’s actually experiencing some sort of violence against them, so I think although domestic violence hasn’t happened to me personally, I certainly know women who are dealing with this struggle every day.” And the star stated she felt motivated to help with the cause as the issue affects so many types of people.

Reese added as part of her speech: “Domestic violence affects women who are famous, who are not famous, women who have money, women who have no money. This is an issue that crosses all boundaries and it certainly affects everyone.”

This sounds a bit like the typical tabloid trash so take it with a grain of salt, but at the same time it’s certainly possible given the circumstances. The UK’s Now Magazine claims Angelina Jolie is having a very difficult time at home with her newborn twins Vivienne and Knox. Maddox, seven, Pax, four, Zahara, three, and Shiloh, two also demand their mothers attention.

The now mother to six children is allegedly sleep-deprived and emotionally spent.  Angelina is said to be receiving medical treatment for her stress.

A source tells Now, “She’s in tears up to three times a day and so tired that Brad’s found her collapsed asleep in the bath twice.

“She’s also not eating very much right now and blames that on being busy. The doctor says that she needs more calories to gain strength and ensure that her breast milk is healthy.”

The magazine also reports how the couple have hired help on hand at all times and are now looking for a nurse to stay for six weeks.

No doubt with twins and 4 other young children, Angelina is probably got more then her hands full.  Hopefully it’s nothing worse then that like postpartum depression.
