Michael Phelps to guest host on “Saturday Night Live” season premiere

Olympic gold medal swimming champ Michael Phelps is ready for more action on NBC. Phelps is slated to make a guest apperance on NBC’s “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on September 8, and the network picked up the broadcast rights to the 2009 World Swimming Championship, in which Phelps will compete. But the victory lap for Phelps is heading for deeper waters as he will make his acting debut on the 34th season premiere of “Saturday Night Live.” According to Hollywood Reporter, Phelps is set to host the sketch comedy series when it begins its new season September 13 with musical guest Lil Wayne.
