Rihanna is money in the bank broke?

I have gotten a few emails about this rumor that Rihanna is near broke.  According to Rihanna’s ex-business manager Patricia Williams, the popular pop star only has $20,000 to her name. Patricia was let go recently when Rihanna and her management found out she was supposedly going broke. Rihanna (RiRi) immediately accused Patricia of stealing from her. Patricia claims that Def Jam never really paid Rihanna, so she would use earnings from her concerts (about $30k a show) to fund her lifestyle and finance her other albums. She said:
“It’s not my fault that she only has $20,000 to her name. I showed her all the paperwork and tried to explain to her the circumstances but she wouldn’t listen. She called me all sorts of horrible names and stormed off. I now feel compelled to share with the world the background story as I will not allow my name to be slandered.”

RiRi has had four back-to-back albums, including a re-release since her debut of “Pon De Replay” in 2005.

Patricia went on to explain that Def Jam doesn’t “fund Rihanna properly,” so all the money she makes from endorsements and tours is used to pay for her albums and music videos. Patricia claims RiRi made around $1 million last year and all of it was spent making her music videos.

I really can’t find the source of ex-business manager Patricia Williams’ quotes, but they supposedly came from the NY Post famous Page Six.  So is the ex-business manager a disgruntled employee, just trying to embarrass RiRi?  Hard to say of course.  But we sure hope Rihanna surrounds herself with good people and makes sure she’s got lot’s of money in the bank for those rainy days, when she doesn’t have her ‘Umbrella’ handy.
