Dave Matthews Band pays tribute to fallen member LeRoi Moore

LeRoi Moore, a founding member of the Dave Matthews Band, has died, on Tuesday (19Aug08). Moore passed away at the age of 46, at the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center following complications from injuries he suffered in an ATV accident in June (08). He suffered a punctured lung and broken ribs at the time. Moore went back into the hospital last month due to complications. Moore died in Los Angeles Tuesday afternoon, after taking a turn for the worse.
Dave Matthews and the rest of the band performed at the Staple center in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, just hours after Moore’s death. They paid an emotional tribute to the star following their first song, reports People.com.
Matthews told the crowd, “We all had some bad news today. Our good friend LeRoi Moore passed on and gave his ghost up today and we will miss him forever.” Fans shouted Moore’s name in tribute as the band resumed playing. Two songs later, Matthews once again made reference to Moore, saying: “It’s easier to leave than be left.”
Rest in peace LeRoi!
