Mark McGrath out, Mario Lopez new host of “Extra”

Mario Lopez is set to replace Mark McGrath and Dayna Devon as the new host of “Extra,” this September. Extra, has also just been renewed through the 2011-12 season. Mario joined Extra in January 2007 and co-hosted the weekend edition of the program. An Extra Spokesman told People Magazine, “Mario … has established himself as a highly engaging, likeable and sought-after host and personality.”
Dayna will stay as a special correspondent. McGrath after three years on Extra, plans to focus on his musical career, and he is currently recording a new album with his band, Sugar Ray.
