Comedienne Joan Rivers has reportedly signed on to take part in Donald Trump’s hit TV show The Celebrity Apprentice.
Rivers, who turned 75 last month, admits she has never seen the show, a spin-off of Trump’s The Apprentice, but is keen to work under the guidance of The Donald.
She says, “I will be on Celebrity Apprentice… They are going to send me tapes.”
Network executives haven’t confirmed Rivers’ yet but they might be a bit gun shy. Rivers had been tapped to participate in last year’s season before scheduling conflicts forced her to cancel.
A spokesperson for the show says, “We can’t confirm any casting until an official announcement closer to the airdate.” Rumor has it that Heather Mills has also been approached to be a contestant on the forthcoming season of “Celebrity Apprentice, but hasn’t committed yet. The show’s new season is set to begin recording in the autumn (08) and is scheduled for a premiere in January (09).
Last year’s season saw Celebrity Apprentice stars including model/actress Carol Alt, KISS rocker Gene Simmons, boxing champion Lennox Lewis and actor Stephen Baldwin battling it out. But the winner was relatively unknown tabloid editor Piers Morgan.
