Christie Brinkley divorce case to be settled today

Published on July 10, 2008 at 9:07 AM

A settlement has been reportedly reached in the bitter Christie BrinkleyPeter Cook divorce trial. After more than a week of testimony, proceedings halted yesterday. It’s a shame they couldn’t have come to an agreement earlier before Peter Cook was thoroughly dragged through the mud. If his affair and porno addiction wasn’t bad enough new allegations emerged yesterday that Cook, used to be a drug dealer (cocaine) in the ’80s. Anyway the white flag was finally waved and lawyers for Brinkley and her Cook, spent all night hashing out an agreement. They finally came to terms at 6:00 A.M. this morning.

And, by all accounts, it seems like Brinkley has come out victorious. It will come as no surprise to those that have followed the trial that Christie will keep full custody of their two kids and Cook will get visitation rights. The current arrangement allows Cook to see his children every Wednesday and on alternating weekends, as well as additional time during the summer.

Cook conceded substantial ground in the asset portion of the trial in order to bring the ordeal to an end. The two sides are scheduled to appear in court this morning and are expected to finalize the deal to end their 10-year marriage.

Both parties are expected to finalize the new deal in court this morning.
