Lindsay Lohan gets $22k ring from girlfriend Sam Ronson?

Are Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan taking their relationship to the next level?

Sam reportedly spent $22,000 for a Cartier diamond ring for Lindsay. The two were just out doing a little window-shopping, and the next thing ya know Lindsay is sporting some serious ring bling!

Sources close to the friends/couple say it is not commitment and not an engagement ring. An insider told the Daily Mirror, “Sam took Lindsay shopping to celebrate her 22nd birthday. Although Lindsay is the major breadwinner, Sam has her own money and is very proud. It’s not an engagement ring – simply a token of her commitment. Lindsay is thrilled and she and Sam are very content.”

Sam recently posted a picture of her and Lindsay making out on her official Myspace page. So is this proof enough that they’re a couple and does anyone really care anymore?
