Ex-sports greats Chris Evert and Greg Norman wed in Bahamas

Tennis great Chris Evert and golf legend Greg Norman - both 53-years-old - were married Saturday before 140 guests in a seaside ceremony held under a veil of tight security on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, People.com reported.
Celebrity guests at the ceremony included newsman Matt Lauer and “Sunglasses at Night” singer Corey Hart.
“They wanted a romantic wedding,” said event planner Mary Fanizzi Krystoff, who decorated the flower-filled outdoor ceremony and reception areas. “They wanted their friends and family to enjoy a wonderful weekend together.”
Evert was walked down the aisle by her teenage sons, Nicky and Alex, while 12-year-old Colton served as the ring bearer.
Also in attendance were Norman’s 23-year-old daughter, Morgan, and his son, Gregory Jr., 21, who served as best man.
Guests at the wedding weekend had the opportunity to play in golf and tennis tournaments and to enjoy wines from the Greg Norman Estates. Media reports have said the couple, who arrived in the Bahamas on Norman’s private jet on Thursday, shelled out up to $2 million for their lavish weekend nuptials.
Evert and Norman got engaged, less than a year after costly and bitter divorces from their longtime spouses who all knew each other and were close before friendship allegedly turned into love and betrayal. Evert, who won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, divorced former husband Andy Mill, a World Cup and Olympic skier from Colorado, last December after 18 years of marriage. Norman reached a divorce settlement with his wife of 26 years, Laura Andrassy, in September. The Australian won the British Open in 1986 and 1993.
