Newly married Pete Wentz wants to raise his unborn child with wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz in his native Chicago, Illinois - because he believes it is a better place to grow up in than California.

As the newlyweds prepare for parenthood Pete tells People Magazine:
“I’ve been reading books and watching my dad.I think I would rather raise a family here than L.A.; you go to your own coffee shop, you go to the dog park, its smaller and I appreciate it.”
And Pete seems to be laying roots as he now has his very own new bar in his hometown of Chicago. Pete celebrated the opening of Angels + Kings with his wife Ahslee and his parents on Tuesday.
The launch party served as a second belated birthday celebration for Wentz, who turned 29 on June 5th.
During the celebration, Wentz was treated to a special slide-show of photos from his youth, compiled by his pregnant spouse.
Upon hearing of the montage, Wentz said to his new wife, “I thought you said you wouldn’t do anything embarrassing!”
She replied, “I know, I’m sorry Peter,” before starting the presentation.
The show ended with a video clip of Ashlee saying, “I love you, Peter,” as she blew a kiss into the camera. Wentz was then presented with a large bulldog-shaped birthday cake, in honor of their beloved pet Hemingway.
