Sienna Miller joins Russell Crowe in Robin Hood remake with a twist


Sienna Miller has confirmed she has been cast to play Maid Marian alongside Russell Crowe’s Sheriff of Nottingham in an upcoming, revisionist view of Robin Hood.
The movie, titled Nottingham, will be produced by A Beautiful Mind’s Brian Glazer and released by Universal. The Russell Crowe reunion also includes Oscar-winning writer Brian Helgeland (LA Confidential) and director Sir Ridley Scott (Gladiator) who have also signed up for the project to team with Crowe again.
This isn’t a rehash of the classic Robin story. This time in Sherwood Forrest, the Sheriff of Nottingham is cast as a sympathetic figure up against a not-so-heroic Robin Hood.
“I just found out,” Miller, 26, tells the BBC. “It’s the most exciting news in the world.”
As for her role — in the past, Robin (who has not yet been cast) always had a thing for Marian — Miller says she “could not have a better part,” while teaming with Crowe and Scott was “as good as it gets.”
