The Incredible Hulk ready to bust out in theatres without Edward Norton’s help?

The Incredible Hulk, premieres this weekend and is expected to perform quite nicely. But its star, Ed Norton has decided he will NOT be helping out with publicity according to reports and what we have seen so far.
Norton not only stars in the movie but also helped to re-write and tweak the screenplay after he was handed a script from X-Men 3 writer Zak Penn. So while Penn undoubtedly shaped the film, Norton may be looking for credit and money for strengthening the dialog and humanizing the Hulks alter-ego Bruce Banner. The Oscar-nominated actor has a reputation for being difficult. Tony Kaye, who directed him in “American History X,” charged that Norton reedited the flick to give himself more screen time. And screenwriter/director Joe Eszterhas cmhere2 once cracked: “You don’t want Edward Norton to star in your movie. He now rewrites all the scripts he agrees to act in.”
So, after the rumored fall-out with Marvel and Universal that also included an alleged dispute over the final cut of the movie, he’s declined to do much if any publicity.
Thankfully, Liv Tyler is doing her part to promote the film.
As for the next two sequels of the movie, which are already planned, turns out Norton might not be in them.
Norton apparently didn’t sign for the following films, most likely in an attempt to to get more money. But Tyler and director Louis Leterrier have both signed up for the entire trilogy. So the movie is about a big green monster but the drama now is over a little green cash.
And in case you haven’t heard, Robert Downer Jr is making a surprise appearance in the Hulk as Tony Stark (Iron Man) and can be seen briefly in the most recent promos.
